Huawei officially unveils the P60 series, which promises a great photography experience

Huawei P60 Pro It is undoubtedly the star of this new collection, and it stands out from the rest of the phones thanks to the white color version that comes with a mother-of-pearl back, besides, all the designs and color options each have a certain aesthetic feature that makes this phone a real design masterpiece.

Huawei P60 Pro: A professional camera in your hands

The P series has always excelled when it comes to the photography experience, and the P60 Pro seems to be no different. The new phone comes with a triple rear camera consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor. This camera features support for a variable aperture (f/1.4 to f/4.0) as well as an RYYB color filter to improve photos taken in low-light conditions.

This is not the first time we've seen variable aperture support on a Huawei phone, as it has included that feature in another flagship phone, which is Mate 50 Pro. But we're still glad to see this feature in 2023, especially as the industry moves to larger camera sensors with a shallower field of view.

Zoom capabilities are handled by a 40MP Periscope Telephoto sensor that supports true optical zoom up to 3.5x. Huawei promises great results in low light conditions with this camera too thanks to the use of an RYYB color filter and optical image stabilization. Oddly enough, the brand also says you get a telephoto zoom mode via the periscope lens, allowing you to take macro shots from a distance.

Regarding the rest of the camera details, we have a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and the front camera comes with the same megapixel resolution as well.

For the rest of the P60 Pro's specs, we have a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 4G chip, a 6.67-inch (2700 x 1220 pixels) OLED display that supports 120Hz refresh rate, 256 or 512GB of internal storage, 12GB of RAM, a 4,815mAh battery, charging Fast 88W and 50W wireless charging.

Other notable specifications include support for Bluetooth 5.2, Harmony OS 3.1, under-display fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, memory card slot for expanding internal storage, and IP68 rating for protection against water and dust.

What about the P60 Standard Edition?

We also have the regular version in the series which is Huawei P60 Which Huawei considers a good alternative if you want to spend less, this phone shares many specifications with the Pro version such as the screen, chipset, main camera, ultrawide camera, 4815 mAh battery, 50W wireless charging, and mother-of-pearl back cover.

However, there are definitely too many compromises to justify the price difference. These reductions include a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto lens instead of 40-megapixel in the Pro version, and 66-watt wired charging instead of 88-watt.

P60 Art comes as a replacement for the Pro Plus version

The third and final phone in the series is Huawei P60 Art Which is just an identical copy of the Pro version, but with some minor differences that make the balance tilt in his favor when comparing both phones.

The most notable difference is the third camera or the ultra-wide lens, which comes here with a resolution of 40 megapixels instead of 13 megapixels. We also have a larger battery with a capacity of 5100 mAh instead of 4815 mAh, while the fast charging capabilities remain the same.

This phone comes with a larger internal storage space of 512 GB instead of 256 GB, and we also have the highest version with a capacity of 1 TB.

Pricing and market availability

The new phones are available in China right now, starting at $655 for the 128GB version of the P60 and $875 for the 256GB version. Meanwhile, the P60 Pro starts at $1,025 for the basic 256GB version and $1,170 for the higher 512GB version. While the P60 Art was priced at $1,315 and $1,610 for the 512GB and 1TB versions, respectively.

There is no information about the possibility of launching the phone in global markets, but there is one constant fact, unfortunately, which is that all phones will lack support for Google services, whether inside or outside China.
